The World in a Grain of Sand

Content is king (or so my kids tell me). We would like to be able to say that we have a grand plan in mind behind launching curated content at KdT, including our new podcast series, The World in a Grain of Sand. But really we just want to share some insights with our broader community. Many of our learnings come from paradigms and playbooks external to the KdT portfolio, and this new podcast is an effort to share some of them, in particular those from the vaulted S-1: the registration statement that companies file with the SEC prior to going public.

S-1s have a special place in our hearts here at KdT. In them, notionally successful companies lay bare the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly, as disclosure requirements finally catch up to them. Business models, R&D efforts, lawsuits, and the like are buried in 150+ pages of legalese, and we here at KdT look forward to reading the fine print so you don’t have to.
